Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee and execute civil engineering aspects of solar power plant projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising construction activities, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Design: Assist in the design, layout, and site preparation for solar power plants, including foundation designs and structural assessments.
- Site Assessment & Feasibility Studies: Conduct geotechnical and topographical surveys to assess land suitability for solar installations.
- Construction Oversight: Supervise and manage civil construction activities, including grading, excavation, foundation works, and road construction.
- Structural Integrity & Quality Control: Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Material Selection & Procurement: Evaluate and approve construction materials for durability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with local building codes, environmental laws, and health & safety regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and provide technical recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in civil engineering for solar power plants or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and SAP2000.
- Strong knowledge of foundation design, site grading, drainage, and roadworks.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., IS, IEC, ASTM, ACI).
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in challenging site conditions and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in ground-mounted solar PV projects.
- Knowledge of wind loads, seismic considerations, and soil-structure interaction.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
